Good morning friends!
I have a question for you all today: how many of you are feeling a tad cold?
Now I don’t mean chilly, because I’m sure the snowpocalypse took care of that for most of you this weekend. No, I mean how many of you have been feeling a little achy, a little sniffly, a little less-than-super?
Yep. I’m talking about that kind of cold. The kind that keeps you home from work and makes your friends stay three feet away from you in the most polite way possible.
Spring may be on its way
or that groundhog could be a liar but it’s definitely still winter out there as of this morning. Between the chilly temps and wet weather ranging from full on blizzard to freezing rain, it’s a miracle we aren’t all home with a cold.
Luckily I haven’t fallen prey in 2014, knock on wood, though I think it may have something to do with my recent smoothie kick.

Yes. I made another Orange Creamsicle treat. Yes. I have a problem. No I don’t think I’ll be stopping anytime soon.
It may be a bit frigid outside, but just one sip will transport you to sandy shores and sunny beaches. However, I do know that vitamin C is helpful when warding off colds and keeping your immune system strong, so between that and the previously mentioned daydreams of summer-time…

Orange Creamsicle Vitamin C Breakfast Smoothie
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1/2 orange, peeled
- 1 tbsp honey
- Pulse oats until powdery, about 60 seconds.
- Add yogurt and orange juice and blend until oats are completely incorporated into the liquid ingredients.
- Add rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
Yields 1 LARGE or 2 SMALL smoothies
