Another Marvelous Monday is upon us! Wait, what’s that? You hate Mondays? Loathe them with passion?
Well, now you don’t have to!
With On Sugar Mountain’s Oreo Overload Muffins, you can kiss those Manic Mondays goodbye!
Hi it’s me. So I know that just sounded like the worst as-seen-on-tv advertisement in the world, but hear me out…
These muffins – are overflowing with Oreos. Yes, Oreos; those delightfully chocolatey, cream-centered cookies that you gobble down every time you discover them in the pantry.
What?! We have OREOS?! I’m totally having these instead of dinner…
said the college student every night.
But then I thought “I’d really like to have Oreos in the morning, because nothing gets me more geared up to do tons of work than an intensive sugar high combined with chocolatey cookies.”
I have mentioned I have a sugar
addiction obsession right?
And thus, the Oreo Overload Muffin was born. Those of you who may have a problem with sugary treats in the morning (we need to meet in person so I can show you what you’re missing) please don’t fret. These actually aren’t all that bad for you.
Now with that said, these are not healthy muffins. Are they healthier than Dunkin’ Donuts Muffins? Totally. Pretty much anything is healthier than that. Plus, most of the cereal we eat is loaded with sugar anyways, so really, in the great words of Jim Gaffigan, these are really like muffin vitamins…
How are they as a dessert you may ask? PERFECTION! And quite filling, I might add. Personally, I find that they can be enjoyed best with a nice cup of coffee, but you can never go wrong with a classic big glass of milk.
The Streusel topping is simply finely diced Oreos (fancy I know!) and softened butter. This could perhaps be the best/most dangerous culinary concoction I’ve created. Oh what are these cupcakes? They could use some Oreo Streusel. Muffins? Streusel ’em up! Cereal? ADD OREO STREUSEL.
You get the idea.
I think the only way to possibly add more Oreos to this muffin would be to add a whole Oreo to the bottom of the pan before pouring delicious muffin batter over it; but for that please see these Oreo Explosion Cupcakes.
Like I said: I love oreos. Oreos love me. We’re a happy Oreo family.
Oh no – I think the Barney song just subliminally added itself to my train of thought. And no, not the socially acceptable Barney of HIMYM. The way weirder giant purple dinosaur.
I betcha he’d love these muffins though…
Okay I’ve officially been strange enough for the entire week, and it’s only Monday. I hope you enjoy these muffins as much as my friends and I did. 🙂 See you all tomorrow!
