I’ve brought Muffin Mondays Back!
(collective applause, accompanied by shouts of joy)
I was in such a rut for a while, that I thought the best thing to do would be to get back to basics. Basics in my book always mean muffins.
They are delectable, simple, quick, and hearty. What more could you want in a sweet treat?
Oh, did you say sprinkles?
Friends, I’ve got you covered.
Say hello to the Banana Split Muffin!
She’s got it all: strawberries, bananas, chocolate chips, and a sweet cream drizzle topped with plenty of sprinkles.
I know there’s no cherry on top, but between you and me I don’t care for them. Sprinkles are better.
Sprinkles are ALWAYS better. Obviously.
But you already knew that. 😉
I’ve been dying to mash together all these flavors into one glorious muffin. Apparently all I needed was prolonged exposure to the frozen tundra that is New Jersey lately.
Seriously, what is happening?! I thought we were through with the polar vortex, and yet I am still dressing up in my certified Polar Vortex Outfit before I head out to work each day.
Note: Certified Polar Vortex Outfit, aka PVO, happens to be a puffy white jacket that makes me look like a marshmallow, followed by two scarves (one for neck and one for face), one set of gloves covered by one set of mittens, fuzzy hat with ear flaps, and snow boots.
The outside may have been screaming winter in my face, but inside all I could imagine was summer and ice cream sundaes.
What better way to daydream about warmer weather than with a banana split muffin?
Oh, speaking of which, isn’t Groundhog Day coming up? Do you think he accepts bribes?
A couple dozen banana split muffins for a few less weeks of winter?
I bet it’s worth a shot. 😉 I’d do anything to see a few days in the upper 40s, man even the upper 30s.
Anything other than “feels like -12”.
So seriously, go make these muffins. It will warm up your house and put a smile on your face in minutes!
It will put smiles on your friends’ faces to should you choose to share…but no one has to know you have them but you if you feel like keeping a secret stash.
Secret stashes of delicious muffins have helped me through so many things. Midterms, final papers…
that time at the end of the month when all the bills are due.
Muffins are the solution!
I’ll be back on Wednesday with another unbelievable post about salad. I know. I can’t believe it either.
See you then!
