Hello friends and Happy New Year!
Every New Year’s, my boyfriend rolls his eyes at me as I prance around…
happily exclaiming that this is THE YEAR.
The Year of Jess kicking butt and taking names, whatever that means.
So I am preparing myself for eye-rolls of epic proportions, because friends,
THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST YEAR EVER.
Because I said so!
Heehee, just kidding.
No, it’s going to be the best year ever because we are all going to make it the best year ever. As much as you, me, or our friends joke about keeping up with New Year’s resolutions, I find it to be an absolutely wonderful way to refresh and renew your dreams and goals.
Put your best foot forward and do something beautiful and amazing with your life in 2014!
Even if it’s just promising not to be too hard on yourself this year, or striving for progress, not perfection, the resolutions you choose to make for yourself can put you into a strong, positive head-space that lets you get even MORE done than you imagined!
Do try to avoid those insane diet pills and weight-loss schemes that pop up all over the place January 1st; they are so not fun and way more likely to make you write off resolutions all together!
I want resolutions like: “I want to eat more delectable muffins” or “I want to add more good-for-you ingredients into said delectable muffins.”
Here! Look! I can keep both of those resolutions by eating these moist Chocolate Chip Yogurt Muffins!
If you commit to the same resolutions, you can also enjoy these for breakfast, or a quick snack between meals.
You could also just eat these muffins, just, well, because you adore muffins.
No judgment here.
Actually, I am a full on muffin-adorer as well, so I will join you in munching on these all month long.
I’ve been dying to experiment with yogurt in muffins but just haven’t had the time, what with all the Thanksgiving and Christmas-related posts of late.
It’s hard to motivate me to make muffins when I can concoct cupcakes filled with eggnog.
Or anything pumpkin related, but don’t get me started on that. 😉
Anyhoo – expect more yogurt muffins this year! I am still working out exactly the right ratio to lead to muffin madness*, but we are close!
*Muffin Madness: (n) a state of being in which an eater of muffins finds them so perfect, so moist and flavorful that he/she jumps for joy, runs outside, and proclaims to all who hear how fabulous the muffins are that he/she is eating
So good luck setting your resolutions (or not) and I’ll be back on Monday with my resolutions and a recipe for superb scones!
