Are you shocked to see another title with the words “Apple Cider” in them?
Or, or…are you the coolest readers ever and saw the title and did something like this…
“Apple Cider Smoothies?! I LOVE APPLE CIDER AND I LOVE SMOOTHIES!! WOOOOOOOOOO JESS IS AWESOME!”
It’s awful nice to live inside my mind, isn’t it? 😉
Well, I hope you were somewhat excited about it, because apples and pumpkins have taken over my life until, well, forever.
I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte the other day, and the Autumn Angel Choir sang out as I took my first sip. But they also spoke to me to whip up a breakfast smoothie for all the apple-lovers out there.
So for that, we have this apple cider smoothie! Chopped fresh apples, a banana, apple cider, yogurt, oats, a drop of honey as well as a pinch of apple pie spice makes this apple pie you can have for breakfast….
WITH NO SHAME!
Now this happens to be an easy weekday version of apple pie for breakfast. If you happen to feel like apple early in the day on a Saturday, might I suggest these sinful apple pie pancakes from Liz of a Sweet Baker.
I need more than one option for how to have my dessert for breakfast, obviously.
Now that I’ve introduced you to the many ways to
become addicted to apple pie enjoy apples this early in the season, now I have to ask you all an important question.
I’ve seen on a few blogs post a “Weekend Recap” that sums up the recipes and highlights of the week on Saturday or Sunday. My good friend Ramona of Curry and Comfort does it, and sometimes with a busy week, it’s nice to see it all in one place.
Would any of you, my lovely, my amazing, my fabulous readers, like to see that here on the blog?
I honestly would enjoy doing so on a Sunday, but I also don’t want to bother you incessantly (especially those who receive new posts via email) with my caps lock and craziness.
Who knows, maybe the weekends need to be caps lock free for you. Personally, I need them all the time every moment of my life.
I JUST GET EXCITED OVER DELICIOUS THINGS!
So, feel free to leave a comment at the end of this post. Yay or nay to a weekend post recap?
Thank you in advance!
Okay now it’s time to wrap these shenanigans up, A quick thought for any of you still thinking about this smoothie: though I used Granny Smith since I had them on hand, feel free to use any apple you enjoy eating raw. I’ve heard that some are better raw vs. cooked, though I just end up buying Granny Smith because they work well for me in almost every recipe.
I shall return on Friday with some new cooking experiments in…
PIE AND PASTRY!
(deep gulp from narrator)
So, we’ll see how that goes.
