I know; I know.
I promised you scones.
Aren’t I terrible? How could I keep you from delectable, sweet scones?!
I’M A MONSTER.
Heehee. Just kidding. I’m just a little strange, but you all knew that already, didn’t you? 😉
It turns out that after I narrowly missed the Snowpocalpse and flew into Newark airport ahead of schedule (that’s where I should’ve known something was wrong) on Thursday, I came home to a huge water main break in my town and a Boil Water Advisory.
Ugh. How can I get ahead with blogging when I don’t even have running water to brush my teeth?!
Answer: I can’t.
So instead, I thought I’d share with you my resolutions for 2014 and a nifty social media scheduling website that will help keep you incredibly organized this year!
Since, well, organization is awesome. And fun.
DON’T SHAKE YOUR HEADS ORGANIZATION IS THE COOLEST THING EVER AND A PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE WAY TO SPEND A WEEKEND.
So, back to my resolutions for 2014.
Right at the end of 2013, before heading out to Florida for vacation, I ordered takeout and received two fortune cookies that actually had some impressive fortunes inside.
I know that these fortunes can be silly or cliched, but finding the two of these together that night made me think about how I want to begin 2014.
As such, my resolutions are to stop being so hard on myself and to be patient when life seems to throw obstacles in the way of my life plans.
Things happen for a reason, and I need to stop blaming myself for things that are out of my control and start focusing on the things about my life I can control.
Namely: my blog! I’ve got big plans for this year, full of sweet treats, adorable props, and some-what funny banter by Yours Truly.
I’m hoping to improve my photography, further grow the blog into a possible second source of income, and of course, manage my social media more effectively.
This brings me to my Blogger Organization Tips!
If I haven’t immediately lost you (I would be mad too if there were no scones!) I want to share with you some great websites to keep you organized and on track with your blog this year!
This is my number 1 social media organization app. Buffer offers both free and paid subscription services to schedule all of your posts to various social media platforms. You can create schedules for Facebook Pages, Twitter Accounts, LinkedIn, and even Google+ pages, and monitor them all easily from a mobile app (both iPhone and Android!) I love the Google Chrome extension as well, which lets me easily “Buffer Images” while also including the original link source. It’s simple to use and very streamlined.
I think this is the social media scheduler that people are more aware of, and it does offer some advantages that Buffer does not. For free, you can schedule as many posts as you want as far into the future as you want (this is only offered on the Premium Buffer Account).
So, if you are extremely organized and can plan months and months ahead, this may be the better option for you. It also lets you import various “feeds” from your social media sites, so that you can have everything in one place.
I could go on and on, but I believe I’ve already bored you sufficiently with the multitude of ways you can stay organized in 2014! I’m off to finish up my editorial calendars (and work on those scones) so I’ll be back soon with more recipes and sweet treats.
